Overview

Varsity by Zerodha is a collection of stock market lessons, divided into chapters, spreading awareness and educating visitors/readers/enthusiasts about financial concepts ranging from basic introductory concepts to stock markets to advanced trading theories, taxation on capital market instruments, and everything else in between.

Varsity by Zerodha includes an open forum, including a comments section on each chapter and a wall section for visitors expressing opinions/commenting, where market newbies, enthusiasts, experts, and all types of people can come together and express their views, clarify their doubts, and exchange any market related ideas/queries on the forum/platform and we also offer live financial educational programs, known as Varsity Live.

Varsity by Zerodha is owned by Zerodha, a SEBI registered stock broking entity, being a member of NSE & BSE, under the SEBI Registration ID INZ000031633, and having it’s registered office in #153/154, 4th Cross, Dollars Colony, Opp. Clarence Public School, J.P Nagar 4th Phase, Bangalore - 560078, Karnataka, India. Zerodha operates it’s main website under “https://zerodha.com/” and operates a website version of Varsity by Zerodha under the URL: “https://zerodha.com/varsity/”.

The information available through the Website and Mobile Application, along with any comments or views expressed by users, visitors, employees, or any other person on the platform, is provided solely for informational purposes on an “as is” basis and is to be read by the user at the user’s sole risk. Varsity Live, on completion of signup/sign-in to the Varsity Live website - https://varsitylive.zerodha.com/home, is a service provided by Learnapp Technologies Private Limited (“Learnapp”). You consent to obtaining services from Learnapp while using Varsity Live. We may share certain data of users of the Website and/or Mobile App with Learnapp for the provision of Varsity Live services, and the user provides consent for sharing and processing such data only to the extent required to provide Varsity Live services. Data sharing shall be as permitted under Applicable Law, and Learnapp shall be solely responsible for any data protection law compliance as a data processor.

Your usage of this Website and App is at your own risk and needs to be verified by you by doing additional extensive research or by consulting a consultant.

Intellectual Property

All content, logos, illustrations, material displayed on the Website or Mobile Application including but not limited to text, software, photographs, graphics, illustrations and artwork, video, music and sound, and names, logos, trademarks and service marks, are the property of Zerodha whether registered or unregistered. Any unauthorized usage of any such intellectual property shall be liable for damages and Zerodha shall be able to take all such actions against unauthorized users as per Indian or any other such Applicable law.

In case any material is required to be used by a person, specific and express permission is required to be taken by any such user from Zerodha. In case of any assignment of rights or such arrangement/permission is to be requested, a user may write to “[email protected]” for all such permissions.

Prohibited Usage of the Website/Mobile Application

You may use the Website and Mobile Application only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms of Use, in a proper decorum and manner so as to properly allow visitors/readers to use such platforms in an orderly manner.

You agree not to use the Website and Mobile Application:

In any way that violates any local Indian or international law or regulation;
For the purpose of exploiting, harming or attempting to exploit or harm minors in any way by exposing them to inappropriate content, asking for personally identifiable information or otherwise.

To impersonate or attempt to impersonate Zerodha, a Zerodha employee, another user or any other person or entity (including, without limitation, by using email addresses or screen names associated with any of the foregoing);
To engage in any other conduct that restricts or inhibits anyone's use or enjoyment of the Website/Mobile Application, or which, as determined by us, may harm Zerodha or users of Varsity by Zerodha or expose them to liability;
You agree not to: "Scrape" or disaggregate data from the Site (whether by manual or automated means) for any commercial, marketing, or data compiling or enhancing purpose;
Introduce any viruses, trojan horses, worms, logic bombs or other material which is malicious or technologically harmful;
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to, interfere with, damage or disrupt any parts of the Website/Mobile Application, the server on which the Website/Mobile Application is stored, or any server, computer or database connected to the Website/Application;
Attempt to interfere with the proper working of the Website/Mobile Application.

Contributions made by you, visitors/users/readers:

The Website/Mobile Application may contain message boards, chat rooms, personal web pages or profiles, forums, bulletin boards and other interactive features that allow users to post, submit, publish, display or transmit to other users or other persons content or materials on or through the Website/Mobile Application. If you voluntarily disclose personal information (e.g., user name, email address) on the Website/Mobile Application, such as on a forum, chat room or on any other user or member-generated pages, that information can be viewed in search engines, collected and used by others and may result in unsolicited contact from other parties.

We strongly encourage that you not post any personal or other sensitive information on our Website/Mobile Application. Any user/visitor contribution you post to the Website/Mobile Application will be considered non-confidential and non-proprietary. By providing any contribution on the Website/Mobile Application, you grant us and our affiliates and service providers, and each of their and our respective licensees, successors and assigns the right to use, reproduce, modify, perform, display, distribute and otherwise disclose to third parties any such material for any purpose.

You (All users/visitors/readers) represent and warrant to Zerodha that:

You own or control all rights in and to the contributions and have the right to grant the license granted above to us and our affiliates and service providers, and each of their and our respective licensees, successors and assigns. All of your user contributions do and will comply with these Terms of Use. You understand and acknowledge that you are responsible for any user contributions you submit or contribute, and you, not the Company, have full responsibility for such content, including its legality, reliability, accuracy and appropriateness. Zerodha is not responsible, or liable to any third party, for the content or accuracy of any contributions, made by users/visitors, or posted by you or any other user of the Website/Mobile Application.

Monitoring and Enforcement & Termination

Zerodha has the sole right to:

Remove or refuse to post any user contributions for any or no reason in their sole discretion;
Take any action with respect to any user contribution that Zerodha deems necessary or appropriate in Zerodha’s sole discretion, including if Zerodha believe that such user contribution violates the Terms of Use, including the content standards below, infringes any intellectual property right or other right of any person or entity, threatens the personal safety of users of the Website/Mobile Application or the public or could create liability for the Company;
Disclose your identity or other information about you to any third party who claims that material posted by you violates their rights, including their intellectual property rights or their right to privacy;
Take appropriate legal action, including without limitation, referral to law enforcement, for any illegal or unauthorized use of the Website/Mobile Application;
Terminate or suspend your access to all or part of the Website/Mobile Application for any or no reason, including without limitation, any violation of these Terms of Use;
Without limiting the foregoing, Zerodha has the right to fully cooperate with any law enforcement authorities or court order requesting or directing us to disclose the identity or other information related to anyone posting any materials on or through the Website/Mobile Application.

Zerodha cannot and do not undertake to review all material before it is posted on the Website/Mobile Application, and cannot ensure prompt removal of objectionable material after it has been posted. Accordingly, Zerodha assumes no liability for any action or inaction regarding transmissions, communications or content provided by any user or third party. Zerodha has no liability or responsibility to anyone for performance or nonperformance of the activities described in this section.

User/Visitor Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Zerodha, and its officers, directors, owners, employees, agents, information providers, affiliates, licensors and licensees (collectively, the "Indemnified Parties") from and against any and all liability and costs, including, without limitation, reasonable attorneys' fees, incurred by the Indemnified Parties in connection with any claim arising out of (a) any contributions/comments/material provided or written/published by you, or (b) breach by you or any user of your account or these terms of usage or the Website and App or any representations, warranties and covenants contained in these terms and conditions. You shall cooperate fully and reasonably in the defense of any such claim. Zerodha reserves the right, at its own expense, to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter subject to indemnification by you.

Any dispute arising out of this terms, usage, and conditions shall be governed by laws of India and shall be settled as per the jurisdiction of Bengaluru.
